Since 1992 David Hiscock has been developing a body of personal abstract work concerned with recording the resonance of our relationship with the world that surrounds us. These works have investigated aspects of the natural world as well as manmade technology for their subjects, there is also an ongoing series of self-portraits.

Produced with specially constructed and modified cameras these images oppose the conventions of the photographic moment. The camera is continually moving, shifting its viewpoint and focus. They are made over time yet do not become pure abstraction but an extended moment, a combination of what is seen and what is invented.

David Hiscock’s work is held in numerous public and private collections including the National Portrait Gallery, Deutsch Bank and The Royal Photographic Society. His output encompasses large-scale installations for corporate clients to private portrait commissions as well as being firmly established in the world of commercial photography.

Recent commissioned works have included billboard posters for the BBC, Nike and the NSPCC. He has produced a celebrated series of short films for Adidas, and recently devised a provocative campaign for Theo Fennell jewellery. His advertising and editorial commissions have included interiors for Martha Stewart, several campaigns for Wrangler Jeans and work for Vogue, Marks and Spencer and IPC Magazines to mention but a few.

His works are on permanent display at Sony Ericsson’s head office building in London.Last year the North West Wales NHS Trust commissioned a large 10m glass work work for a new outpatients extension at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

David holds a BA in Sculpture from St Martins School of Art and an MA in photography from the Royal College of Art. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Art. He has taught in many of the UK’s leading art schools and is currently External Examiner at the University of Wales and the University for the Creative Arts, Kent.

His works have been exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally.David currently lives and works in London. All wall-based work can be tailored to specific requirements of size and production.
